About

We take pleasure in inviting you to join the Temple Beth Ami family. Founded in 1971, we have sought to be an open, inclusive congregation, encouraging all our member families to find their way to active involvement.

The purpose of the Temple is to promote the enduring and fundamental principles of Reform Judaism and to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people. The basic unit of the congregation is the family; construed to mean singles, couples and parents and children. We extend a warm welcome to interreligious couples and encourage them to participate fully in the life of the Congregation.

Over the years, we have become very much of an extended family, always making room for new “family”, helping each other, sharing our joys and our sorrows. We pride ourselves in being a community.

Our synagogue is a house of prayer, a house of study and a house of meeting. The unique blending of these dimensions, together with the depth of personal involvement, has made Temple Beth Ami a dynamic and exciting Jewish community of over 1200 families.

We have committed ourselves to active participation. We encourage each other to try new things. We find joy in doing – for the Temple and for the greater community.

Our goal is to make Judaism live in our lives, and to open ourselves to the riches of our heritage.

We have kept ourselves open to creativity and innovation. Over the years, we have initiated many experiences to enrich our lives, from worship to social activities, from community service to education.

The Congregation moved into its new 62,000 square feet building in September 1999. The building houses a beautiful sanctuary and an intimate chapel, as well as two outdoor worship spaces, a religious school of over 800 students, a nursery school of 130 students, a library, two beautiful social spaces, and several meeting rooms and common areas.

Our mission statement brings it all together: Temple Beth Ami is a caring, inclusive congregational community united by Torah, guided by the philosophy of Reform Judaism and committed to the Jewish people. We provide the foundation and resources to our congregants to engage in life-long Jewish learning, the pursuit of spiritual growth and the promotion of social justice for all.

Please join us on any Shabbat, holiday or festival to experience the unique worship experiences offered at Temple Beth Ami for people of all ages.

We welcome your membership inquiries.
